Soquel
Elementary has been educating local youth since the 1850's ,has
occupied its current site on Porter Street since the 1890's, and has
occupied the current building since 1921. It has
been an integral part of Soquel Village since that time, and holds a
special place in the community as an historical landmark.
Around
400
students, ranging from Kindergarten through 5th grade, are expected to attend Soquel Elementary each year. Soquel
Elementary School is a place where educators, parents, and students are
actively involved in the learning and growth of all members of the school
community. It is a place for meeting the needs of students and
developing the rich potential of each child. It is a safe, caring place
where children are free to learn, grow, make mistakes and learn from those
mistakes. Students are challenged to reach for their personal star.
Soquel
is especially proud to be designated a California Distinguished School
by the California State Department of Education.
